Platform-native AI

Sellarix vs Shopify's native AI

This is the comparison where we most often lose, and we would rather tell you that upfront than waste your time. Shopify Magic and Sidekick are included in your plan, they are genuinely good, and Shopify ships two major editions a year that keep absorbing things merchants used to pay apps for. If Shopify is your only platform and your needs are mainstream, use what you already have.

What Shopify's native AI does better

Every vendor comparison on the internet claims the vendor wins on everything, which is why nobody believes any of them. Here is where Shopify's native AI is genuinely stronger.

  • It is free and already there

Included in your plan. No integration, no extra bill, no data to connect, and it publishes straight into your admin. That is a real advantage and no third party can match it.

  • It keeps expanding

The Summer 2026 edition alone shipped more than 150 changes, absorbing merchandising, cross-sell, analytics and A/B testing that merchants previously bought as apps. Anything generic gets commoditised on roughly a six-month cycle.

  • Zero workflow friction

It lives where you already work. No export, no re-upload, no second login.

02 / Difference

Where we differ

  • It only exists on Shopify

This is the whole point. A merchant on Magento doing serious revenue gets nothing from Shopify's roadmap, ever, and never will. If you run more than one platform, or you are not on Shopify at all, native AI is not an option you have.

  • Native tools are broad, not deep

Background replacement and prompt-based edits, not garment-on-model imagery or catalogue-scale batch pipelines. Inventory tracking, not demand forecasting. Shopify retires Stocky on 31 August 2026 and its stated replacement is built-in inventory management, which is tracking rather than forecasting.

  • Free is not a promise

Stocky was bundled free with POS Pro. Forecasting was stripped in 2025 and the app dies in August 2026. Free platform tools get retired when they stop serving the platform's strategy, and you have no say in it.
